Abstract

Hypertension is non contagious disease yet very dangerous as known as “Silent Killer” when the blood pressure raises as systolic > 140 mmHg and diastolic >90 mmHg. The blood pressure in elderly is mostly higher and have higher risk of hypertension. Therapy of hypertension can be performed pharmacologically by JNC VIII. The purpose of this research is to know the pattern of oral antihypertensive drugs, the conformity with DSO YKKBI Formularium and JNC VIII in geriatric patients in Farmarin Pharmacy in Solo by the period of November - December 2019. The research was performed descriptively with non experimental method by taking samples of data in November - December 2019 for 35 patients. The conformity of the drugs based on DSO YKKBI Formulatium and JNC VIII was observed by the medical record of geriatric patients with hypertension in Farmarin Pharmacy Solo in period of November-December 2019. The result show there are 7 oral antihypertensive drugs used in Farmarin Phamacy Solo in period of November-December 2019, Candesartan is the most use as single drug (39,13%), and the most drugs use with combination are Irbesartan + HCT (50%). The conformity of antihypertensive drugs used in the pharmacy towards DSO YKKBI Formularium is 100% and towards JNC is 88,57% conformity and 11,43% imprecision.
