Abstract
Fisetin (3,3',4',7-tetrahydroxyflavone) is a bioactive molecule of flavonols that can be found in fruits and vegetables that have bioactivity as antioxidants. Fisetin is a class II drug (BCS) because of its low solubility in water, so that its use as an active drug compound is very small. Fisetin solubility can be improved with Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN) technology. This study aims to determine whether fisetin can be made in the SLN system, determine the SLN fisetin characteristics, develop nanoparticle into serum and determine the characteristics of serum preparations in the nanoparticle system. SLN fisetin was prepared using a solid cetyl alcohol lipid with a concentration 0.50%; 0.25%; and 0.15% with emulsification and sonication methods. SLN fisetin is made in the form of facial serum with the formula of aquademinerallisata, propylene glycol, sodium gluconate, ophtipen, hyaluronic acid and xanthan gum. The SLN fisetin formula was characterized including particle size, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency, stability during storage and antioxidant activity with the DPPH method. The serum were then tested for physical quality including organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH and viscosity, cycling tests to determine storage stability. The results showed that fisetin can be made in an SLN system with emulsification and sonication method stable during storage with characterization result in the largest particle size 320.967 nm, potential zeta value of -14.9 mV, and has a strong antioxidant activity because it has an IC50 value 12.14 ppm. Serum in the nanoparticle system produce physical quality and stability in accordance with the standards in the literature. Keywords : Fisetin, SLN, Emulsification, Sonication, Serum
