Abstract

Many youths do not understand how to manage drugs in the home properly and correctly, including how to get, use, store, and dispose of drugs so education related to drug management is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of providing education with mind mapping tools to increase knowledge about drug management in the home using the DAGUSIBU method from Karang Taruna cadres in Manang Village, Sukoharjo Regency. Research with a direct survey to 155 respondents using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Respondents were given pre-test questions, then education on drug management was carried out using mind mapping tools, then post-test questions were given. Analysis of the results of the effect of providing education with mind mapping tools on increasing knowledge of drug management in the home using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed the highest use of drugs: Tolak Angin (9,97%), Paracetamol (8,92%), Promag (7,61%), the highest drug efficacy during the last 6 months: increasing endurance (15.49%), relieve flu (12.34%), stomach complaints (11,29%). The level of knowledge before education is 72,91% less criteria, and 24,51% sufficient criteria, 2,58% good criteria. Education with mind mapping tools can increase the knowledge of drug management in the home with the DAGUSIBU method from the Karang Taruna cadres of Manang Village, Sukoharjo Regency significantly by 70,77%.
