Abstract
Anxiety is an unpleasant emotional state accompanied by discomfort, and worry or fear of a definite or uncertain future threat. Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) is considered to have the ability as a candidate for the medicinal plant anxietas. There is currently not much research related to anxiety. Aim of this study to determine the prediction of interaction patterns as well as pharmacokinetic profiles and toxicity of anxietas targets in compounds that are imprinted on nutmeg seeds. The study used molecular tethering methods, nutmeg as a test compound and GABA, MAO-B, mGluR1, and NMDAR as anxietas target proteins. Molecular tethering using PLANTS, YASARA, Marvin, Vega ZZ and Biovia DS software. ADMET prediction using ADMETlab 2.0 webserver. The results showed some nutmeg compounds had good affinity values, instrumental amino acid interactions, and binding pockets similar to the original ligands. The chemical compounds methyl eugenol, isoeugenol, licarin B, safrole and elemicin showed good results against the target protein antianxietas. Predictions of pharmacokinetic profiles show some compound content has good ADMET results. Safrole, elemicin and methyl eugenol compounds show good results, be it absorbance, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and have low toxicity so that the compounds safrole, elemicin, and methyl eugenol are predicted to be potent as antiansietas.
