Abstract
Jackfruit leaves have active phytochemical substances which include; flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. The active substances contained in jackfruit leaves have effective activity as burn healing. The purpose of this study was to test the activity of administering an ethanol extract gel of jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) leaf as a burn healer on rabbit skin with qualitative and quantitative observations. In this study, a gel formulation of jackfruit leaf ethanol extract was formulated using the meseration method. The test animals used were 5 rabbits, making burns without treatment (negative control), using bioskin® gel (positive control), 10% jackfruit leaf extract gel, 15% jackfruit leaf extract gel, 20% jackfruit leaf extract gel. Making burns with hot metal plates. The gel preparation that has been tested is applied 2-3 times a day and the burn is observed for 21 days (day 0 to day 21). Quantitative data was tested statistically using ANOVA (Analysis Of Variant) and qualitative data was presented in a descriptive way. The results of this study indicate that the gel formulation of jackfruit leaf ethanol extract has good physical quality and has activity for healing burns on the rabbit's back. The most effective burn healing activity was found in formula III with a concentration of 20%, followed by formula II with a concentration of 15% and formulation I with a concentration of 10%.
