Abstract

Sunflower seeds are a plant that grows a lot in Indonesia. The content contained in sunflower seed oil is known to help the wound healing process. The content is sitosterol, flavonoids, and linoleic acid. This study aims to determine whether sunflower seed oil (Helianthus aannus L) with various concentrations of carbopol 940 can be formulated into emulgel preparations that meet physical quality tests and have wound healing activity on rabbit backs. Sunflower seed oil as the active substance was identified and then an emulgel preparation was made with 3 variations of carbopol 940 concentration, namely 1%, 1.5% and 2%. In the physical quality test of the emulgel preparations, organoleptic tests, pH tests, spreadability, adhesion, viscosity, and stability tests were carried out. Then proceed with testing the wound healing activity using five male rabbit test animals, each which was given a cut with 6 different treatments and formulas. t-test for independent samples The results of the physical quality test of sunflower seed oil emulgel preparations showed that all formulas had good physical quality and stability. Variations in the concentration of carbopol 940 affect the physical quality and wound healing time. The higher the concentration of carbopol, the higher the viscosity value and the smaller the spread of the emulgel, so that wound healing will take longer. Sunflower seed oil emulgel with 1% carbopol concentration showed the most effective wound healing effect on par and positive control. Keywords: Carbopol 940,sunflower seed oil, emulgel, cuts
