Abstract

Widley used of inappropriate corticosteroids is a public health and patient safety issue. The main problems of using corticosteroids include the right dose, the right patient, the right drug and the right indication. This study to determine the characteristics of asthmatic patients, the percentage of rational corticosteroids and any type of irrationality, well to determine the rationality of using corticosteroids with therapeutic results achieved in asthmatic patients the Inpatient Intaslation of RSUD Dr. R Soedjati Soemodiardjo Purwodadi, Grobogan Period 2021. This study uses a non-experimental descriptive analysis study design, with retrospective data collection carried out tracing patient's past data from the medical records of asthma patients period 2021. The sample in this study was asthma patients listed in medical records using corticosteroid therapy in the installation. Inpatient Grobogan District Hospital in 2021 which is adjusted to the inclusion criteria. This study was conducted on 48 samples of asthma patients who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that the largest population was female, the most common age group was 23-44 years old, asthma was found in patients with good nutrition. Corticosteroid rationality based on patient accuracy is 95.83%, indication accuracy is 100%, drug accuracy is 93.75%, dose accuracy is 91.67%. Keywords: Asthma, corticosteroids, rationality
