Abstract

Sirsak leaves also contain many effective active substances including acetogenin, annocatalin, annoesocin, annonacin, annomuricin and so on. The serum is a topical preparation with a high concentration of low viscosity active ingredients, capable of releasing active ingredients on the skin surface. The aim of this study was to determine the physical quality and stability of the serum preparation of sirsak leaf ethanol extract. This research begins with plant determination and sirsak leaf material intake. The extraction was performed by a 96% ethanol solvent maceration method. Then it was formulated in 4 formulas, namely base, FI, F2 and F3 each containing ethanol extract at a concentration of 0; 0.5; 1; and 1.5%. All formulations have been tested for physical quality, i.e. organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, viscosity, and stability tests. The data obtained were analyzed together using SPSS. The results showed that the ethanol extract from sirsak leaves has agood physical quality and stability in homogeneity, pH and viscosity tests, but the dispersion test did not meet the requirements of the serum physical quality test. The requirements for the dispersion test for serum preparations are 5-7 cm. Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that with the knowledge of sirsak leaf extract, it is possible to prepare whey preparations, and that variations in the concentration of sirsak leaf extract affect the physical quality and stability.
