Abstract

Sanitary napkins are products in the form of sheets/pads that are used to absorb menstrual fluid or vaginal fluids. However, there are sanitary napkins that use chlorine for the bleaching process of the raw material for sanitary napkins so that the sanitary napkins become pure white. Sanitary napkins containing chlorine are at high risk for reproductive health. This study aims to identify chlorine in sanitary napkins. The researh was conducted qualitatively by testing the color reaction using reagents H2SO4 ,10% KI, starch 1% produce a mauve color. The study preparation before testing by soaking the sanitary napkins in distilled water for 30 minutes. The results of this study indicate that the results of the qualitative test of 5 samples are suspected 1 sample that is positive for chlorine namely sample B.
