Abstract
Isomyristicin is an isomerized product of myristicin and is thought to have the same activity as myristicin. Isomyristisin also has the same group as myristicin. The purpose of this study was to determine the antidepressant activity and the optimum dose of isomyristisin compound to increase the locomotor activity of malewhite mice (Mus musculus). The sample in this research is isomyristicin. This research used 30 male white mice which were divided into 6 groups. 5 mice each made normal control, negative control, positive control, control dose isomyristisin 1.5 mg/kgBW, 3 mg/kgBW, and 6 mg/kgBW. The methods used are Open Field Test (OFT) to measure the locomotor activity of male white mice. The normality distribution testwas carried out with the Saphiro Wilk test which was then followed by the One Way ANOVA test. The results showed that the dose of isomyristicin 1.5 mg/KgBW of mice was an optimum dose because the smallest dose was comparable to the positive control of amitriptyline 3.25 mg/KgBW of mice. The ability of isomyristin in the dose group of 1.5 mg / KgBB mice showed differences with normal control and negative control and there was no difference with positive control with sig values. p(>0.05) on LSD analysis. Key words : Isomyristicin, antidepressants, OFT
