Abstract

Obesity is overweight as a result of excessive body fat accumulation. Obesity is a risk for diabetes associated with the occurrence of insulin resistance. As a result of insulin resistance.In RW 14 the urban village of Karyamulya Cirebon, public health center of majasem find 30 obesity residents. Obesity can cause diabetes mellitus due to unhealthy diet and lifestyle. The need for this study is done because obesity and elevated blood glucose levels have one of the same causal factors of diet. The purpose of this study is to determine the comparisson in fasting blood glucose levels in obesity and not obese in RW 14 The Urban Village Of Karyamulya Cirebon. This study uses descriptive-comparative method with Cross Sectional approach. Sampling technique used is nonprobabilitas technique and how to determine sample size by causal comparative technique minimal sample is 30 in each of group, and then how determine criteria of sample by purposive sampling technique. In this study, the sample used 60 residents consisting of 15 obese women, 15 non obese women, 15 obese men, and 15 non obese men. The tools and materials used are one-touch glucose tool, microtoise, and scales. The result of fasting blood glucose study on obesity was found to be 114.47 mg / dl, meanwhile not obesity was obtained mean 105.87 mg / dl. The data normality test by saphiro wilk test and data analysis is done by using the model of Independent sample t-test. In this test obtained tcount of 3.355> ttable with p <0.05. Since the probability is 0.001< 0.05 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded there are differences in fasting blood glucose levels in obesity and not obesity age over 40 years in RW 14 The Urban Village Of Karyamulya Cirebon.
