Abstract

Optimum drug information service to patients is very important in the attempt of improving the quality of patient’s life. Providing drug information not optimally can affect drug therapy and can harm the output of therapy expected bay patients. The objectives of research were to describe drug information service and to find out information of supporting and inhibiting factors in the process of drug information service by pharmacist in Pharmacy Installation of Puskesmas (Public Health Center). This study was an observational research using descriptive qualitative design. Data was collected through in-dept interview. Data constituted the result of interview given by 2 pharmacists in Puskesmas X of Grobogan Regency in 2018 with 10 patient respondents. Considering the result of research, the detail of drug information commonly given to patients had been delivered well to patients including, among others, drug use, drug use duration, drug use method, side effect, and drug interaction. The technique of Drug Information Service was conducted during working hour, by answering question, giving education and visiting, while the problems to be explored in this study was that physical infrastructure available in Puskesmas was still inadequate; it could be seen from no consultation room was available and slow internet network.
