Abstract

Longterm use of isoniazid (INH) damages the livers cells which are correlated with an increase in the Serum Glutamic-Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) dan Serum Glutamic-Oxaloacetic Transaminase (SGOT) blood level.Temulawak is a typical Indonesian plant that has tremendous potential, Curcumin is a chemical substance in temulawak that acts as an antioxidant and also as a hepatoprotector. This study used 36 rats divided into 6 groups namely, group 1 normal control, 2 negative control group, positive control group, group 4 dose 1 (225 mg), group 5 dose 2 (450 mg), group 6 dose 3 (675 mg). All rates adapted from day 0- 7, day 8 was determined sgot content and initial sgpt.pemian stock preparation temulawak done on day 9-20 except normal group and negative group. 18-20 days given isoniazid except normal group 1 hour after giving instant dosage of temulawak.hari to 21 is determined sgot and sgpt akhir.analisa data sgot and sgpt levels done by using anova test continued tukey test. The results obtained from the study showed that administration of instant temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) preparations can reduce SGOT and SGPT levels in animal tests of wistar white male rats that have been induced by isoniazid and from the three doses of instant temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) SGOT and SGPT levels in the test animals of the white male wistar strain induced by isoniazid were doses of 675 mg / 200g BB.
