Abstract

Meloxicam is an oxicam derivative including NSAID drugs that have low solubility and high permeability so that modifications are made to increase of solubility in the form of solid SNEDDS. The optimum formula result of SNEDDS meloxicam was do characterized covers emulsification time, drug loading, % transmittance. Furthermore, the manufacture of meloxicam solid SNEDDS with olive oil composition, tween 80 and PEG 400 can overcome the problem by forming nanoemulsion o / w in the gastrointestinal tract. The solid stability of SNEDDS can be enhanced by the addition of aerosil and mannitol ingredients using the freeze drying technique resulting in a dry powder. The characterization results of meloxicam solid SNEDDS gives better results in aerosil absorbents compared with mannitol. This is because the aerosil forms homogeneous nanoemulsion with emulsification time 59,21 ± 1,08 second, drug loading 79,22 ± 0,57 ppm, % transmittance 38,97 ± 0,81, and particle size 137,7 nm with polidispersity index 0,279, rendement solid powder SNEDDS aerosil 71,26%. While of SNEDDS solid powder on mannitol formed nanoemulsion with emulsification time 32,93 ± 0,83 second, drug loading 43,75 ± 0,49 ppm, % transmittance 93,7 ± 1,04 % , and particle size 478,7 nm with polidispersity index 0.582, rendement of solid powder SNEDDS mannitol 89.62 %. Dissolution test solid SNEDDS meloxicam on the media buffer phosphate pH 6.8 reached 82.91 % within 25 minutes 31.96% higher than pure meloxicam , as well as from the result of FT-IR spectra aerosil capable as solid carrier material SNEDDS meloxicam .
