Abstract
Widespread infectiousworm infection is still widespread in tropical and sub-tropical areas. Craftmen tile is a job that uses clay as a raw material so that they are vulnerable to intestinal worms infection of intestinal group Soil transmitted Helminths. This is because almost every day the artisans tile direct contact with the ground without the use of personal protective equipment or footwear. The lack of science and sanitation of work environment hygiene can cause disease of worms to the tile maker. The purpose of this research is to know the presence or absence of intestinal worms nematode intestine Soil Transmitted Helmniths group on the sample of feces and nails of tile craftsmen. Samples examined were 15 samples of faces and 15 samples of nail tile craftsmen. The population is the tile craftsmen in Jetis Village, Klepu, Ceper, Klaten. The examnation used a direct method with eosin 2% solution in the feces sample, while the method used in the nail sample by the precipitation method using KOH 10 % solution. The result of examination of 15 samples of faces and 15 samples of nail craftsmen tile that on the sample of faces and nails no found worm eggs Soil Transmitted Helminths with a positive percetage of 0%. Based on the result of the reserch, the tile craftsmen in Jetis Village have done hygiene sanitation well. Keywords: Soil Transmitted Helminths, Nails, Feces, Tile Craftsmen
