Abstract

Hypertension is widely known as cardiovascular disease and is one of the risk factors that lead to chronic renal failure or CRF. Patients with hypertension with kidney disorders occupy the position with the greatest incidence rates (35%) compared with hypertension that causes complications in other organs. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of antihypertensive treatment in hypertensive patients with GGK and rationale therapy in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta viewed from the aspect of accuracy of indication, exact patient, correct drug, and exact dose evaluated using JNC 8 and adjusted to Hospital Formulary. A non-experimental study in the form of a retrospective survey was conducted through the medical record of hypertensive patients with chronic renal failure undergoing inpatient treatment in January 2016 until December 2016 at hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. The sample was taken by purposive sampling method where the sample was determined based on the inclusion criteria. This study was conducted on 42 medical records of patients with chronic renal failure who received Antihypertensive Drugs. The rationality of the use of antihypertensive drugs was assessed from the medical record data and then analyzed by using the percentage of occurrence of points included in the rationality of the drug. The rationality of the use of antihypertensive drugs in this study includes precise indications, precise medications, precise doses and precise patients. From this research was obtained the result of antihypertensive drug that most used by patient is loop furosemid diuretic group (13,21%). The category of drug accuracy according to JNC 8 was found to be exact indication (100%), to appropriate drug (100%), exact dose (95,24%), patient appropriateness (100%), and formulary suitability RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta (100%).
