Abstract
Farmers are professions that require a person to be in a wet place. The workplace of farmers is a watery and muddy field. The farmers 'feet and hands are in direct contact with water and mud in the fields, which causes the farmers' feet to become wet. Wet and moist feet are the favored conditions of the fungus. These conditions are a contributing factor for the growth of fungi. One of the skin diseases caused by the fungus is tinea pedis. Mushroom growth is also affected by temperature and humidity. Temperature and humidity are influenced by environmental factors, eg altitude. The highlands have an ambient temperature between 10o - 15oC with relatively low humidity. The lowlands have between ambient temperatures between 23o-28oC with moderate moisture. The fungus that causes skin disorders can grow well at room temperature 25o-30oC, with 60% moisture. The objective of this research is to find out if there are fungal causal of tinea pedis at farmer in highland of Conto village of Wonogiri regency and lowland of Mojoroto village of Karanganyar regency and to know difference of percentage. This research uses observational design. The examination method used is an indirect examination by making a skin scrap culture between the toes of the farmers in the highland village of Conto Wonogiri district and lowland village Mojoroto district Karanganyar. The results of this study were not found moulds that cause tinea pedis (percentage 0%) in terms of the results of interviews and questionnaires of farmers who become respondents have a clean lifestyle. The clean lifestyle becomes one of the factors avoiding farmers from tinea pedis. The fungi found were Fusarium sp, Penicillium sp and Aspergillus sp. Fusarium sp can cause various infections in humans. Fusarium sp is one of the causes of opportunistic mycosis in humans and animals. Aspergillus sp found air, plants, dust, and almost everywhere, if inhaled fungal spores Aspergillus sp can cause lung infections, but very rarely infect human skin.
