Abstract

Guava leaves (Psidium guajava L) is leaves contain compound flavonoid that use to reduce of cholesterol levels. The aim of this study was to know about subchronic toxicity rendemen guava leaves in sopi lontar Flores to changes of ALT and AST and liver histophatology white male rats. The search used a subchronic toxicity test was performed for 90 days. The test animal were divided in to 6 that group each group consist of 5 rats. The control group was given the CMC, the first dose group was given rendemen guava leaves in sopi lontar of 62 mg/200 g BW, group II dose of 250 mg/200 g BW, group III dose of 500 mg/200 g BW, group satellite CMC, and group satellite dose III 500 mg/200 g BW. Parameter used ALT, AST, and histophatology. The data was analized are use two way ANOVA. The results showed that rendemen guava leaves in the sopi lontar can increase levels of ALT and AST. Test of liver histophatology showed that the higher level of liver damage is dose III and satellite dose III.
