Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disease there was inflammation of the joints in the body which is characterized by the appearance of pain and swelling of especially the fingers, wrist and knee. Avocado seed was one herbal medicine can to arthritis. This study aimed to determine the effects of antiarthritis, knew the decrease of edema volume, and histopathological improvement profile of male rats induced with CFA, after administration of ethanol extracts of avocado seed. Animals test induced with CFA before treated. The test preparation in the suspension form of the extract gave for 7 days, leg edema volume was measured every day. The first until third group were given by avocado seed extract dose of 1.96, 3.92, 0.98 (g / kg W) respectively, the fours group of triamcinolone dose 0.36 g/kg BB, negative control group fifth CMC 0.5%. Parameters measured was percentage reduction in the volume of edema and joint histopathology profile. The result was analyzed by two-way ANOVA (significance p <0.05). The results showed that the ethanol extract of the seed of avocado provides antiarthritis effect. The effective dose decrease edema wolume was1.96 g/kg W. Demonstratedin in histopathological profile providen an overview of the joint space test group of mice feet more clean and contain fewer cell infiltration compared to negative control. key word : Persea americana Mill, complete fruend’s adjuvant, rheumatoid arthristis, antiarthritis.
