Abstract

Fluor albus, thrush and candidiasis is an infection caused by the fungus Candida albicans. Tanjung leaves have the constituent compounds are flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, triterpenoids, and tannins. This study aimed to determine the activity of the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and water ethanol extract of cape leaf (Mimusops elengi Linn) as antifungals against Candida albicans ATCC 10231. The extraction method used in this study is the percolation method with 70% ethanol, followed by fractionation of the solvent n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water. Test antifungal activity against Candida albicans done by dilution method. The concentration of ethanol extract and fractions used 50%; 25%; 12.5%; 6.25%; 3.12%; 1.56%; 0.78%; 0.39%; 0.19%; 0.09%. Analysis of compounds made with reaction tubes and TLC. The results showed that the ethanol extract of leaves of the promontory, the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water have antifungal activity against Candida albicans. Ethyl acetate fraction has the most effective antifungal activity against Candida albicans than the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol extracts of cape leaf. Minimum Kill Concentration (MKC) 6:25%, and MKC positive control albothyl is 0.25%. The most-active compounds in the fraction of ethyl acetate are flavonoids.
