Objects in this study were white rats weighing as much as 35 heads with 150 – 200 grams aged 2 – 3 months. All the rats were divided into 6 groups randomly BR II then fed every day. Each groups consisted of 5 rats. Group I normal control was given BR II. Groups II negative control group was given 0,5% cmc. Group III as a positive control group with administration of simvastatin. Group IV, V, VI the extract dose 87.5 mg/kg BW, 175 mg/kg BW, 350 mg/kg BW. Whole rat measured HDL and LDL before and after of treatment. The results showed that all three doses is able to raise HDL and lower LDL. The effective dose is a dose of 350 mg/kg BW. Mangosteen leaf extract significantly influence the levels of HDL and LDL. Keywords : leaf extract of mangosteen, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, white male wistar rats.
