Abstract

Acute respiratory infections is an infectious disease that attacks one or more of the parts and the respiratory tract , from the nose ( upper line ) to the alveoli ( bottom line ) including adekyasa network , such as the sinuses , middle ear and pleural cavity This study aims to describe, rationality and appropriateness of antibiotic use in pediatric with acute respiratory infections in Inpatient X Hospital Surakarta 2015. This research is descriptive non experimental, by collecting data retrospectively from the medical records of pediatric patients with Respiratory Acute Infections Inpatient of X Hospital Surakarta in 2015, then the data were analyzed according to the Formulary , Manual of Medical Services IDAI 2009, and Pharmacotherapy Handbook 2015 The results showed that antibiotic use in pediatric with acute upper respiratory tract infections in Inpatient of X Hospital Surakarta in 2015 in accordance with Formularies and Manual of Medical Services IDAI 2009, and Pharmacotherapy Handbook 2015 which 50 pediatric patients (age 0-14 years) receiving 5 kinds of antibiotics are Ampicillin + sulbactam Tryhidrate (10%), Ceftriaxone (74%), Cefotaxime (12%), Cefixime (2%), Erythromycin (2%). The rationale for the antibiotic therapy the exact of indication 70%, the right of patients 92%, the right of medicine 24% , the right of dose 50%.
