Abstract

Kola nut (Cola nitida A. Chev) and Pronojiwo (Kopsia fruticosa (Ker.) DC) is a plant that is used for traditional medicine, one of which is to increase stamina (tonic). This research was to determine the effect of tonic infuse a mixture of the three crops. In this researh, the two plants was made in the form of infusion dosage. In this study, test animals were grouped into seven test groups and each group consisted of five male white mice, namely: The first group was given a drip first formula. The second group was given infusions second formula. The third group was given a infuse third formula. The fourth group was given infusion of fourth formula. The fifth group was given infusa fifth formula. Positive control group was given a sixth (caffeine) and negative control group were given seven (distilled water). The test animals were puting into the water tank and observed signs of fatigue. After arise signs of fatigue the test animals are removed from the water tank and note the time exhaustion. The results showed that the infusion preparation of both these plants have a tonic effect, both in the preparation inifusa single dose or combination dose. The tonic effect of the highest to the lowest in a row is the fourth group, the third group, the fifth group, the first group, the second group and the seventh group (positive control).
