Abstract
Has done research on the ability of carbon active as an adsorbent to absorb metal Cr (VI). It is known that activated carbon is one of the absorbent material. Therefore in this study determined the most favorable conditions to a decrease in Cr (VI). Cr (VI) itself is extremely dangerous for society when inhalation will cause poisoning, from the toxic effects of Cr (VI) that can damage and irritate the nose, lungs - lungs, stomach and intestines. This study was conducted in laboratory scale using the batch method. A solution used this time the solution of artifical Cr ( VI ) 500 ppm. This research was conducted using the batch method. Of determining the time contact employing variations time at 15, 45 and 75 minutes. Determination of the effect of concentration on the sample using the concentration range of 20, 30 and 40 ppm. The results of the study of adsorption of Cr (VI) with activated carbon using Spectrophotometry UV-VIS at a wavelength of 431 nm is obtained absorbance of the sample is 0.003. Results absorbance can be incorporated into the linear regression equation that has been made is y = 0,00443x - 0.00373. Decrease Cr (VI) obtained a value of maximum adsorption capacity and activated carbon absorption of the nicest on the influence of contact time of 15 minutes. The influence of the concentration of the most well is 30 ppm. The resulting decline in Cr (VI) are obtained concentration of 1.52 ppm with a percentage decrease of 94.93%.
