Abstract

Adult nutritional status can be monitored simply by using body mass index of nutritional status, especially with regard to weight the advantages and disadvantages. Being overweight can also affect cholesterol levels in the body which is one of the most important factors to determine a person's risk of developing cardiovascular disease. This study aims to determine the ratio of total cholesterol in the body mass index groups. This research is an analytical study with cross-sectional design to compare the total cholesterol levels in the various groups of body mass index. Samples numbered 60 employees and members in Polres Sukoharjo. This research was conducted with the spread sheet approval and questionnaires, measuring height and weight, then measuring the total cholesterol level. Data analysis techniques using the one-way ANOVA test. The result showed sig value (p value) 0.915 which is greater than 0.05, which indicates that there is no significant difference between total cholesterol levels in BMI underweight, normal and more or obesity on members and employees in Polres Sukoharjo. In this study it can be concluded that there is no difference in total cholesterol levels significantly to various groups of body mass index. Keywords: Total cholesterol, Body Mass Index
