Abstract

Helminthiasis disease infect many people in Indonesia especially children who have the low hygiene. Infection intestinal worms caused one of them is pinworm. Infection symptom of pinworm (Oxyuris vermicularis) is female pinworm toward the anal to putting the eggs, that led to the patients scratching his anal. Pinworm’s eggs are on nails, on the dust, and moving into food, Oxyuris vermicularis worm egg examination on feces and nails children is done in a Parasitology Laboratory of Setia Budi University, Surakarta. Feces samples were tested are the other 33 sample with a direct smear method by using Eosin 2% and nails samples were tested are the other 33 sample with a sedimentation method by using NaOH 0,25%. Based on results of tests obtained from 33 feces samples showing no findings of Oxyuris vermicularis worm egg and from 33 nails samples showing no findings of Oxyuris vermicularis worm egg. Coclusions, the percentage of children infected oxyuriasis on feces samples and nails is 0%. Key word : feces, nails, Oxyuris vermicularis worm egg, direct smear method, sedimentation method
