Abstract

Cabbage is a vegetable leaf favored by almost everyone, because the cabbage has a taste that is delicious and tasty. Indonesian people in general are so familiar with these vegetables, because the cabbage is usually consumed fresh as fresh vegetables and also for other food mixtures. Intestinal worm infection is one health problem in the world, because it can affect the health of humans. The group of species including intestinal worms Ascaris lumbricoides and hookworm. Fresh vegetables can be an agent of transmission of the worm eggs. Eating raw vegetables can increase the likelihood of default of parasitic infection. The purpose of this study was to determine the eggs of Ascaris lumbricoides and hookworm eggs on cabbage vegetables. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of Parasitology, University of Setia Budi Jl. Let. Jen. Sutoyo Surakarta. When the study on December 28, 2015 - January 5, 2016. Cabbage samples were examined as many as 15 samples using the indirect method by sedimentation technique using a solution of NaOH 0.2%. How to make a 0.2% NaOH solution is by weighing 2 grams of NaOH crystals are then dissolved in 1 liter Aquadest. The solution used for sedimentation is 0.2% NaOH solution because it is isotonic. Based on the results of research on vegetables cabbage in Traditional Markets Wonogiri contaminated samples of worm eggs was 9 of 15 vegetable cabbage or as much as 60%. The samples were not contaminated with worm eggs is 6 of 15 vegetable cabbage or as much as 40%. The results of the examination 15 samples of vegetables cabbage, 9 samples (60%) contaminated with the eggs of Ascaris lumbricoides and 2 samples (13.33%) contaminated with hookworm eggs.
