Abstract

Dimenhidrinat is an antihistamine drug that into the category of receptor antagonist H1 which is a drug that can prevent drunk. Substances contained can reduce or inhibit the effect of histamin (inhibitory rival). Antihistamin works inhibit histamine receptors in the brain that are in chemereceptor tringer zone (CTX) which coordinates inputs. This study was aimed to determine the effect of variation superdisintegrant Primojel with citric acid-sodium bicarbonate as effervescent ingredient to physical quality of the tablet. This research was conducted using direct clamp with three formula variations primojel with citric acid-sodium bikarbobat as effervescent ingredient with different formula. Tablets produced of each formula and then tested the physical quality of tablet which including: tablet friability, weight uniformity, tablet hardness, wetting time, disintegration time, and taste response. The results showed that the use of superdisintegrant primojel with citric acid-sodium bicarbonate as effervescent ingredient could affect the physical quality of tablet which including tablet hardness, tablet friability, weight uniformity, disintegration time, wetting time and resulting the fastest disintegration time in Formula I.
