Abstract
The clover leaf and stalk efficacious as a laxative urine (diuretic) as saponin. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diuretics and most effective dose of ethanolic extract of the leaves and stalks of clover (Marsilea crenata P.) of the wistart strain male white rat (Rattus norvegicus). The clover herb was extracted using soxhletation method with ethanol 70% as the solvent. The tested animals were divided into 5 groups. Each group consisted of 5 rats. The rats were fed with warm water at certain volume and than give treatment per oral. The group I was positive control (furocemide 0,72 mg/200g BW), group II was negative control (CMC suspension), group III (ethanol extract of clover herb 37,5 mg/200 BW dose), group IV (ethanol extract of clover herb 75 mg/200 BW dose) and group V (ethanol extract of clover herb 150 mg/200 BW dose). The data obtained was the analyzed statistically using a one-way ANAVA and followed by Post Hoc test at confidence lefel of 95%. The result of research showed that ethanol extract of clover (Marsilea crenata P.) herb had diuretic effect. The most effective dose as diuretics was 75 mg/200 BW on wistar-strain male with rats (Rattus norvegicus). Keywords : daun dan tangkai semanggi (Marsilea crenata P.), soxhletations, diuretics
