Abstract

UD Sari Jaya Makmur is a company that manufactures fodder. The main ingredients it uses to manufacture fodder are 30% of chaff, 30% of cassava, 35% of corn, 3% of pollard, and 2% of molasses. UD Sari Jaya Makmur often lacks corn and cassava because the supplier provides them late. Therefore, it hinders the production process of the fodder. It is necessary for the company to predict the level need of the main ingredients, so it is easy to plan production. To predict the need of the main ingredients the company uses method of constant, trend linear, simple exponential smoothing a = 0.9, simple exponential smoothing a = 0.25, weighted moving average and winter. The smallest MAD is the constant method, that is 1296.5, MSE 24.324583 and 10% of MAPE. The verification result, with Tracking Signal of the forcasting calculation of constant method, is not valid because of exceeding the limit +6, that is from 1 to 11. The winter method of Tracking Signal scores from -1.13 to 4.36. Hence, the company chooses winter method with 1425 MAD, 24.97950562 MSE, and 11% of MAPE. Based on the analysis, the company obtains the order interval of cassava 1.05 month with the optimal supply 82.17 tons and the order interval of corn 0.26 month with optimal supply 23.89 tons. The total cost of cassava and corn supply annually is gained by system P method without stocking out, that is Rp 1.129.507.220 and Rp 1.865.046.824. Keywords: Forcase, Q system and P system
