Abstract
Commitment on organization can affect efforts in performing jobs. Hence, the higher commitment of employees, the longer they stay with the organization and have no intent to leave it. In addition, organizational commitment is also affected by extrinsic motivation in achieving desired goal. Thus, every individual had extrinsic motivation that may be changed into spirit to encourage and grow a working enthusiasm. Purpose of the research is to know effect of extrinsic motivation on organizational commitment of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Kartasura. Sample of the research was 30 respondents taken by using purposive sampling. Data of the research is primary and secondary data. Data was collected by using scale of extrinsic motivation and scale of organizational commitment. The data was analyzed by using simple linear regression assisted by SPSS version 21.0 for Windows. Results of the research indicated that extrinsic motivation affected significantly on organizational commitment of employees of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital with significance value of p=0.000 (<0.05). Analysis on coefficient of determination showed 46.4% of organizational commitment is determined by extrinsic motivation, whereas 53.6% of the effect is determined by other factors.
