Abstract

Kadipiro village is one of areas with high rate of Dengue Fever incidence. Larvae Free Rate or Angka Bebas Jentik (ABJ) in Kadipiro village for the past three years (2013 – 2015) is 91.7% in 2013, 88.8% in 2014, and 97.9% in 2015. This study aims at finding out the correlation among the knowledge level, behavior on larvae free rate in endemic areas of dengue fever, and percentage of larvae free rate in Kadipiro village. Systematic random sampling was applied in this research and the population was Kadipiro village residents, with a total of 218 people taken as samples. Data were analyzed using chi square technique. The results show that there is a correlation between knowledge and behavior of society and larvae free rate in endemic areas of dengue fever, with count chi square value of knowledge (X12 count > X12 table) of 19.107 > 5.991 and contingency coefficient of 0.284, and count chi square value of behavior (X12 count > X12 table) of 130.276 > 5.991 and contingency coefficient of 0.612. The percentage of larvae free rate in Kadipiro village is 97.7% and it has met the expectation, that is above the national standard (> 95% ).
