Abstract

The performance is an important factor that determines the continuation operation of institution that includes a hospital laboratory. Therefore, the performance of employees is the key to successful continuity of hospital laboratory work. This study aimed to test theinfluence of working environment and individual characteristics on the performance ofemployees in clinical pathology laboratories Hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. The study population is a clinical pathology laboratory employees at RegionalGeneral Hospital Dr. Moewardi. This research used a survey with a sample size of 50 respondents. This research was done by using a questionnaire that non-probability samplingtechnique sampling using total sampling where all members of the population used as sampling. The results of data analysis to conclude the work environment and individual characteristics partially influence on employee performance. The Working environment andindividual characteristics simultaneously affect the performance of employees. Employeeperformance in clinical pathology laboratory general hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta can beexplained by the individual characteristics of the work environment and amounted to 23.3%.
