Abstract

Learning motivation is a non intellectual driving force psychic from the students which raises learning activity, ensures continuity of learning, and gives direction for learning activities, so that the aim of learning can be achieved. Student’s Learning Motivation can be built from the teacher during the teaching learning process and where the teaching guides the students to carry out the assignment. Teacher’s transactional leadership is the teacher leadership which focusing on stability of class in order to get order, fluent and efficient in teaching learning process. The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between teacher’s transactional leadership and students’ learning motivation The subject of the research are student in 8thclass of Junior High School 18 Surakarta, consisted of 77 students to considering scale and 70 students for the research. The method of collecting data used teacher’s leadership transactional scale and students’ learning motivation scale. The method of data analyzes used correlation-tested by using SPSS program for windows release 17.0. The result of data analysis between variables of students’ learning motivation and teacher’s transactional leadership showed a correlation coefficient (r) 0,510 with p = 0,000 (p < 0,01). Hypothesis is accepted with very significant extent and positive correlation between teacher’s transactional leadership with students’ learning motivation.
