Abstract

Labor-intensive companies empower human physical labor. In doing the activities of workers often experience fatigue. This is experienced by one of the small and medium-sized micro enterprises in Gondangrejo namely Mat Woven brand SIGMA. At the company there is a work station that has not been noticed and consider the feasibility of ergonomics in terms of mihani yarn work station. In the process of mihani yarn the operator quickly felt tired and experienced the pain as evidenced by the results of the Nordic Body Map questionnaire. This research is conducted by identifying the parameters that can provide operator satisfaction to then be used as a basis for determining technical measures in the process of redesigning the work tool mihani yarn. The purpose of this study is to obtain an ergonomic design. In the redesign of mihani yarn working station, the method used to identify the operator's desire is Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Implementation of the improvement plan is realized in the form of design using Catia V5R20 software. The design results are then evaluated by comparison between the initial condition of the apparatus at the mihani yarn work station and the conditions after the repair. The tool designed to provide a small energy expenditure and thrust becomes larger in the process of rolling the yarn.
