Abstract

Mahogany seed contains saponins, flavonoids, and alkaloids. Flavonoids can reduced blood cholesterol level experience hyperlipidemia. This research aimed to observe the effect of antihyperlipidemia also ratio mahagony seed oil and simvastatin most effective of rats experience insulin resistance. Rats induced food high fat diet for 8 weeks. Treatment do for 2 weeks, total cholesterol and triglyceride level in check of all groups treatment in week 0, 6, and 8. Group first as normal control group, group second as obesity control just given food high fat diet, group third given mahagony seed oil 1,18 ml/200 g BW, group four given mahagoy seed oil 2,35 ml/200 g BW, group five given mahagony seed oil 4,71 ml/200 g BW, group six given suspense simvastatin 0,18 mg/200 g BW. Giving group treatment to each once as everyday. The result indicate that all treatment can reduced blood total cholesterol and triglyceride level as significant. Group second as treatmen mahagony seed oil 2,35 ml/200 g BW can reduced total cholesterol and triglyceride level as optimal of male white rats with insulin resistance.
