Abstract
Classes of drugs most widely used in the world is an antibiotic. A quarter of hospital budgets are spent on the needs antibiotics. Antibiotics are often prescribed by doctors to treat various types of infection caused by bacteria or also as prophylaxis of infection, for example in major surgery and before tooth extraction. The purpose of this study was to pattern prescribing antibiotics in Surakarta Farma pharmacy in 2014. This research uses descriptive method with secondary data collection is based on a recipe book containing antibiotics in Surakarta Farma pharmacies during 2014. The data obtained samples taken by random sampling technique. Samples obtained grouped and was percentage according to each type of antibiotic, calculates the average number of antibiotic per sheet of prescriptions. The results showed that antibiotics prescribed in pharmacy of Surakarta Farma in 2014, type, group and the percentage of antibiotics prescribed, Penicillin group include: Amoxicillin (8,94 %), Ampicillin and Co amoxiclav (0,33 %); Cephalosporins: cefadroxil (16,22 %), and Cefixime (37,75 %); class Macrolides: Azithromycin (4,64 %); Erythromycin and Ofloxacin respectively (1,99 %), Levofloxacin (5,3 %), Ciprofloxacin (2,32%), and spiramycin (0,33 %). Clindamycin, Chloramphenicol (0,33 %); Tetracycline class: Doxycycline (0,66 %); aminoglycosides group: Streptomycin (0,66 %); Combination class of polypeptides+aminoglycosides: Polymyxin B Sulfate+Neomycin (16,89 %); Rifampicin (0,99 %). The average number of antibiotic prescriptions per share was 1,07. Prescribing of antibiotics by more than one item number is used simultaneously to produce the desired therapeutic effect.
