Abstract
Antioxidants are important compounds as free radical catcher. Pike (Phyllanthus buxifolius Muell.Arg) contain phenolic compounds that have the potential as an antioxidant. Direct use of pike leaves as antioxidant z11r is inefficient, so we need some more appropriate development. One that made the development efforts made in the pike leaf extract gel dosage form. This study aimed to determine the effect of leaf extract pike to changes in the physical properties of the gel and the antioxidant activity of the leaf extract of pike in a gel form of the free radical DPPH IC50 expressed in prices. Pike leaf botanicals extracted by maceration for 5 days with methanol, and then made in the form of gel with a gel base with leaf extract concentration variation pike of 0.06%, 0.12%, 0.24%. Results of gel tested physical properties and antioxidant activity by DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazil). Antioxidant activity was measured by a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 517 nm after 30 minutes then determined IC50.Kontrol positve used is routine. The results showed that the gel leaves pike have physical properties and different each additional antioxidant exract.
