Abstract
The use of tuber sarang semut as an ingredient of drugs has been mostly done among community and proved to give a good effect for a variety of ailments, but the security level is not yet known when worn in a long period of time. Test security level needs to be done and one of them is through a test of toxicity of sub kronik. This research aims to find out whether there are effects on the awarding of the methanol extract of tuber Ant (Hydnophytum formicarum) given orally against weight gain and stomach organ histopathology in mice. The research on test animals used are white males as much as 40 rats tails which are divided in 4 groups and each group of 10 rats. The dose I 0, 135 g/KgBB, doses of 0, 27g II/III dose KgBB, 0, 54 g/KgBB and control by administering doses of aquadestsilata. Testing conducted for 3 months in a row. Results of the research note that the granting of the methanol extract of tuber Ant (Hydnophytum formicarum Jack.) given orally for 3 months can lose weight the rats as well as give the toxic effects of erosion and congestion on the wall of the stomach of rats observed in histopathology.
