Abstract

Enone compound is a α,β-unsaturated ketone compound, a double bond structure next to carbonyl group. An electrophylic enone group can alkylate a biologic nuchlephylil such as acivities of anticancer, anti bacterial, anti fungal, and anti onflammatory. The experiment was aimed to synthesis enone compound, 1-(4-Aminophenyl)-3-(4-Chlorophenyl)prop-2-en-1-on by condense reaction of Claissen Schmidt between p-aminoacetophenone and p-chlorobenzaldehyde. The synthesis of 1-(4-Aminophenyl)-3-(4-Chlorophenyl)prop-2-en-1-on compound used starting material p-aminoacetophenone and p-chlorobenzaldehyde with NaOH as catalyst in ethanol solvent for 3 hours reaction at room temperature. Purity test of obtained synthesis compound was examined by thin layer chromatography, gas chromatography and test of melting range. Structure elucidaation used UV spektrofotometer, IR spektrofotometer, and mass spektrometer. The experimental result showed that the synthesis of the NaOH catalyst succesfully obtained 1-(4-Aminophenyl)-3-(4-Chlorophenyl) prop-2-en-1-on compound, yellow powder shaped, with 221 ° C melting point, 63,26% yield, recovery 51,19%, and 79,32% purity. It can be concluded that the result of synthesis spectral compound 1 - (4-Aminophenyl) -3 - (4-Chlorophenyl) prop-2en-1-on with base material p-klorobenzaldehid and p-aminoacetofenon shows the chemical structure in accordance with was expected.
