Abstract

Pharmaceutical services is a vital component of health services, so that pharmacists are required to improve the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be able to interact with patient directly. Pharmaceutical services has changed the paradigm of drug orientation into patient orientation, which refers to pharmaceutical care. The aim of experiment was to study the effect of counseling on outpatient satisfaction in Pharmacy Instalation of Islam Surakarta Hospital. This research was conducted by questionnaires that given to 347 patients / patient representatives usedpurposive samplingmethod.Data from the correlation between independent variables (the type of drug information, attitudes and performances of pharmacy staff, ability communicate, the length of time of counseling, and understanding of patient) with dependent variables (patient satisfaction) were analyzed with simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. This result showed that the type of drug information, attitudes and performances of pharmacy staff, the length of time of information drug services, and understanding of patient significantly impacts on patient satisfaction and also together significantly impact on patient satisfaction at 24,20 %.
