Abstract
Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi are transmitted through food or beverages consumed. Antibiotics are a group of drugs that are often used today to treat typhoid fever. The purpose of this study, to determine the most used antibiotic for the treatment of typhoid fever in hospitalized patients in dr. Sumarso Mangun Soediran Wonogiri in 2013, to know the rational use of antibiotics that includes the proper indications, the right drug, the right dose and the right of patients to in-patients compared to Standard Medical Care, and to determine the suitability of the use of antibiotics for typhoid fever in dr. Mangun Soediran Sumarso Wonogiri on Standards of Medical Care and hospital formulary. The study was conducted with non-analytical descriptive design explorative with qualitative and quantitative data collection in retrosprektif. The materials used are the medical records of patients hospitalized with typhoid fever in Wonogiri District Hospital in 2013 were included in the inclusion criteria. Subjects were all data antibiotics used for treatment of typhoid fever in hospitalized patients dr. Soediran Mangun Sumarso Wonogiri in 2013. The results of the study were as follows: patients with typhoid fever in dr. Soediran Mangun Sumarso Wonogiri consists of antibiotics is most ceftriaxon. Details of the results of treatment of rational criteria as follows: 100% precise indications, 88% right drug, right patient 96%, the exact dose of 76%. Appropriateness of antibiotic use based on the type of medical services compared to the standard is 85,71%. Conformity with the use of antibiotics formulary dr. Soediran Mangun Sumarso Wonogiri at 100%. Keywords:Typhoidfever, antibiotic use, rationality, conformity.
