Abstract

Hospital formulary is a list of drugs prepared by pharmaceutical and therapeutic teams (PFT) and agreed by medical staff and refers to a national formulary, established and enforced by the hospital management. Discrepancy in prescribing medicines to hospital formularies may result in decreased quality of hospital services and inefficient use of medicines. This study aims to determine the percentage of appropriateness of prescribing generic drugs and patent drugs with hospital formulary and formulary national. This research is a kind of non experimental research with descriptive design (survey research). The data was collected by cross sectional toward prescription of specialist of disease in subspesialist Gastro-Entero-Hepatology at Cendana pavilion hospital RSUD dr. Moewardi. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling toward prescription of specialist disease in subspecialis Gastro-Entero-Hepatology at Cendana pavilion hospital RSUD Dr. Moewardi. The results of this study indicate the service of pharmacy by a specialist in subspesialis Gastro-Entero-Hepatology at Cendana pavilion rsud dr. Moewardi Surakarta with the prescription of generic drugs according to hospital formulary of 100%, according to the national formulary of 97%, prescription of patent drug according to hospital formulary of 92,1%, according to national formulary of 56,6%.
