Abstract
Binahong leaf plant (Anredera cordifolia (Tenore) Steenis) is a plant of Basellaceae that empirically and trusted as a cure to heal inside and out like burns, surgical wounds, rheumatism, Gout (Uric acid) typhoid, and prevent stroke. Binahong leaves contain flavonoids that indicate antioxidant activity. This study aims to formulate the extract of binahong leaves in gel inventory and determine the optimum formula of dosage based on physical quality test, and test of the activity of gel dosage antioxidant. The extract was obtained by maceration method using 70% ethanol. The filtrate was then concentrated together using an evaporator rotary to obtain a viscous extract. Optimum gel formula based on Simplex Lattice Design using Design Expert program of 8.0.6.1, using 3 formulas containing Na CMC and Na alginat, (6%:5%), (5,5%:5,5%), (5%:6%). The parameters used to create the equation SLD was the viscosity test, dispersive power, adhesion, and viscosity shift. The magnitude of antioxidant activity within DPPH method was determined by IC50 values and rutin used as a comparison. The optimum formula in mixture of Na CMC 13.065% was obtained from the equation and and Na alginate amounted to 86.935%. The results of the T test (T-test) parameters used indicate no significant difference between the predictions with the real experimental results. The results of IC50 test of binahong leaves extract is 76 ppm, in the optimum gel formula of 83 ppm and in the rutin of 27 ppm.
