Abstract
Based on study reported that the pandan wangi leaf contains alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid, tannin, polyphenol, and dye which have antihyperglycemia activity. This study was aimed to determine antihyperglycemia activity of ethanolic extract pandan wangi leaf in hyperglycemia mice by alloxan induction and determine the effective dose of extract which affect on blood glucose level of hyperglycemia mice by alloxan induction. Hyperglycemia condition in animal test was induced alloxan monohydrate at dose of 25 mg/200 g BW. Treatment group was divided into 5 groups, negative control CMC 0.5 %, positive control glibenclamide (0.09 mg/200 g BW ), pandan wangi leaf extract dose in variation dose (4.32 mg/200 g BW, 8.64 mg/200 g BW, 17.28 mg/200 g BW). Glucose level was measured on days 0, 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th. Data analysis which obtained using one-way ANOVA (p < 0.05). The results showed was antihyperglycemia activity in hyperglycemia mice by alloxan induction. The ethanolic extract pandan wangi leaf with dose of 4.32 mg/200 g BW, 8.64 mg/200 g BW, 17.28 mg/200 g BW, did not differ significantly. Administration of ethanolic extract pandan wangi leaf affect by lowers blood glucose level of white male mice with an effective dose of 17.28 mg/200 g BW.
