Abstract
Chronic kidney disease is a disorder of renal function is progressive and irreversible. Hemodialysis is the mainstay of therapy in addition to kidney transplants in people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, the process of continuous hemodialysis and expensive cause a decrease in the quality of life of patients. This study aimed to determine the relationship between sociodemographic patient, severity, comorbidities and costs to the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease. This study used a cross sectional observational method. Namely concurrent data retrieval using questionnaires Kidney Disease Quality of Life (KDQOL) SF-36 (version 1.3) to determine the quality of life of patients and to collect the data of patients who have completed the questionnaire. Data retrieved from the medical records, medication usage data and cost data of patients with a primary diagnosis of chronic kidney disease. Subjects were outpatients with chronic kidney disease in Wonogiri hospitals that have 3 months or more to undergo hemodialysis before measurement of quality of life. To determine the relationship between socio-demographics, severity, comorbidities and costs with quality of life used bivariate correlation. Based on the data obtained demographic study of chronic kidney disease patients which include male gender (58%), aged 51-60 years (30%), marriage married status (84%), secondary school education level (34%), private sector employment (50%). Severity based LFR is stage V (84%). Morbidities with Dipiro algorithm is (60%). Average costs - average total treatment is Rp. 5.101.249. Statistical analysis showed a correlation to gender (p = 0.150), age (p = 0.395), marital status (p = 0.527), educational level (p = 0.119), occupation (p = 0, 026), severity (p = 0.207), HD therapy (p = 0.826), comorbidities (p = 0.001), costs (p = 0.579). Based on the results of this study concluded that the work and comorbidities associated with quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease.
