Abstract
The medical treatment use NSAIDs is still needed by people, such as diclofenac sodium. Previous research granting ginger decoction can prevent gastric mucosal damage. This research was done in order to find out the antiulcer activity of fresh juice, ethanolic extract and amilum of Curcuma xanthorrhiza, Roxb on male wistar rats strain induced diclofenac sodium. Thirty wistar male rats were divided into 6 groups. Group I (normal control), group II (sick control), Group III (sucralfate), group IV (fresh juice of 5.2 g / kgBW), group V (ethanol extract of turmeric 83.5 mg / kgBW) and Group VI (starch 190 mg / kgBW). Ulcer was inducted by diclofenac sodium 13,5 mg/kgBW for three days. Test compound were administrated for seven days, then the rats were sacrified and necroscopied to take stomach organ. Ulcers was determined by the quantity and diameter of the ulcer. The datas of ulcer index were tested by Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney Two Sample Test, with the trust level 95%. The research result showed that preparation of fresh juice, extract ethanol and starch extracts of ginger rhizome had an antiulcer effect with ulcer index each 5.2; 4 and 6.8. The most effective anti ulcer effects was shown in perfomed ethanolic extract at with dosage of 83.5 mg / kg followed by fresh juice and amilum.
