Abstract
Jamu gendong is one of traditional drug which consumed by the people but information about the quality is unpredictable. The objectives of these reseach were to find out the quality of jamu gendong, specifically to the microbiological test. The research in market subdistric Polokarto, distric Sukoharjo (3 Seller’s). To find out the microbacterial contamination, microbiological test were done and to see the standard compatibility of badan pengawas obat dan makanan (BPOM RI) No. HK.00.06.1.52.4011. Microbiological test of jamu gendong include total microba test, total coliform and Escherichia coli, existence bacteria Salmonella sp and Staphylococcus aureus, and total mold and leavened. The result of these reseach showed that total microba of sampel 1, 2, and 3 continued 1,5 x 103 uk/ml, 3,6 x 102 uk/ml and 4,4 x 102 uk/ml. Total Coliform 0 uk/ml, 24 uk/ml and 0 uk/ml. Total Escherichia coli 0 uk/ml, 24 uk/ml dan 0 uk/ml. Existense bacteria Salmonella sp negative find out bakteria Salmonella sp. Existense bakteria Staphylococcus aureus all of sample positive find bakteria Staphylococcus aureus. Total mold and leavened 4,3 x 103 uk/ml, 5,7 x 102 uk/ml and 3,5 x 102 uk/ml. Sample 1,2 and 3 out of standard Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM RI) No. HK.00.06.1.52.4011. Keyword: jamu gendong, microbiological quality
