Abstract
Drug management in hospital include selection, procurement, distribution, and usephases. Inefficiencies ofdrug management can negatively impact in medical, social or economic. The purpose of this study was to determine how far the efficiency of drug management which include selection, procurement, distribution, and use efficiently in Pharmacy Department of General Hospital Majene. The research uses analysis design as retrospectively and prospectively. Data collected were qualitative and quantitative data from documents observation and interview with relevant officials. All phases of drug management measured its efficiency using WHO, Pudjaningsih, Indonesian Health Ministry indicators and then compared with the best results of selected studies. The results showed the drug in the management of Hospital Pharmacy Majene in general has not yet efficient efisien. In selection phase on the suitability of drug items available at the list, the procurement stage yet efficient on all indicators, the distribution stage, yet efficient for the percentage of physical match between medications with card stock (96.5%), low itor (4.08 times ), there are still expired and damaged drugs (0.29%), stage penggunaanbelum efficiently on a percentage indicator prescribing the generic name (75.68%), prescription that can not be served (0.53%), the number of items perlembar prescription drugs remains high (3.16 prescription drug items per sheet). Corrective action by Hanlon method as follows: the selection of drugs based on the old list refers to the use of generic drugs, medications planning selectively applying the ABC method - VEN, inventory planning using EOQ method, FIFO/FEFO storage system, improved stock control, improving the distribution of medical supplies in the purchase of drugs.
