Abstract

Diabetes militus (DM) is disease characterized by high blood glucose levels is accompanied by disorders of lipid metabolism of carbohydrates and proteins as results of insulin insufficiency function. The purpose of this reasearch was to determine the effect of stem ekstract brotowali (Tinospora crispa L. Miers) and leaf mango (Mangifera indica L.) to decrease blood glucose male white mice and reasearch was to dose combination brotowali stem and mango leaf extracts of have a blood glucose lowering effect comparable to glibenclamide. Mice were divided 7 treatment groups, each of 5 mice. First group 0,5% CMC (negative control), second group glibenclamide (0,013 mg/kg BB), third group extract stem brotowali (7 mg/kg BB), fourth mango leaf extract (8,4 mg/kg BB), fifth, sixth and seventh extract combination of mango leaf and brotowali stem with a dose of 1,75 mg : 6,3 mg (25% :75%), 3,5 mg : 4,2 mg ( 50% : 50%), and 5,25 mg : 2,1 mg ( 75%: 25%). Examination of blood glucose levels performed on days 0, 1 st, 4th, 8 th. Analysis of the data obtained using one-way ANOVA (p<0,05). Results of statistical analysis showed all treatment groups had significant difference with the negative control group. Dose combination brotowali stem and mango leaf extract 1,75 mg : 6,3 mg (25%:75%), 3,5 mg : 4,2 mg (50%:50%), dan 5,25 mg : 2,1 mg (75%:25%) have a blood glucose lowering effect comparable to positive control (glibenclamide).
